What Is A Slab?
Slabs are blocks, usually made of concrete, that your home or business has been built upon. You may also recognize it as another name: your foundation. Your home’s slab can be prone to leaks despite solid construction.
Concrete is porous by nature. Slab leaks can sometimes be caused by the ground shifting or wear and tear on the pipes themselves.
There are two kinds of slab leaks, a domestic or fresh water leak, and a sanitary or sewer leak. Domestic is the most detectable of the two and will sound like water running somewhere in your home.
